Born in 1989 in Canada, Ghanian-American Joy Buolamwini is a contemporary computer scientist that is researching racial and gender bias in modern AI. With AI growing more and more prevalent in our society, she seeks to correct issues that can be seen with how AI represents people of different skin colors and sex. So far she has published a book on her findings and has done many interviews and TED Talks to inform more people about this issue. Joy seeks to send a message to our government warning about the dangers of AI.
